Mamadou Fall

Cool, calm and collected, with an extraordinary ability to move effortlessly from one topic to the next without breaking a sweat.

A little bit about the man and his shows

Mamadou Fall was born in Dakar, Senegal, and  atteneded  the Limamou Laye High School. In  1993 he started working as a merchant seaman before moving to the USA in 2000 to pursue his education. In the U.S., he attended the  Itawamba Community College in Tupelo Mississippi before moving to the UK in 2007 to pursue his career. In the UK, he works as a  transport expert, translator and interpreter. Mamadou is a Seereer Ñoominka and is fluent in four languages : Seereer, French, English and Wolof.

Mamadou was Seereer Radio's first ever caller since launching our radio station on Tuesday, 5th January 2016. Prior to his call on Saturday, 20th February 2016 on the Cosaan Seereer program, we received lots of lovely text messages and emails from our listeners but no calls. That show has been uploaded on our free podcast website. To listen to it, click here. Mamadou also sent us some lovely emails in support of our station and what we are trying to do, and what our parent organisation - The Seereer Resource Centre (SRC) has been doing and continue to do to since its founding in 2008. In his emails, he expressed his love and passion for Seereer cultural heritage and his desire to help our radio station. After numerous email and phone conversations with Tamsier (founder of the SRC and Seereer Radio), he was brought into the Cosaan Seereer program where he co-host the show with Tamsier Joof and Demba Sene. That show is presented in four languages : Seereer, Saafi, English and Wolof. Tamsier translates in English, Demba in Saafi-Saafi and Wolof, and Mamadou in Seereer. The first ever show he co-presented with Tamsier and Demba was the interview of Arona Puuy and Salieu Seck regarding the mythical Koffki Shrine of Bandia, officially broadcast on Saturday, 12th March 2016. Since then, he has become a permanent member of the Cosaan Seereer team and has also been assigned  other shows where he is the sole presenter.
