Demba Sene

Straight from the SRC Crew. Diplomatic but knows how to express his views. You will have to be a lawyer trying to win an argument against this man. Check him out Monday to Sunday - see details below.

A little bit about the man and his shows
Demba Sene holds a Degree in Art and English from Cheikh Anta Diop University. He is very experienced and knowledgeable about the day-to-day lives of rural Seereer communities in Senegal. In collaboration with other NGOs, he has led several initiatives to implement rural development in his village. Some of these initiatives included: sports, culture, education and economic development. Organisations which Demba has worked with included: Association Clin d'oeil; APROFEM/DPS Association promotion femme Diobass Paloor Saafi (an organisation that encourages young girls working as maids to work safely) and Association Sportive et culturelle de Kiniabour. He is the founder of Synergie des Forces pour le Development Inclusive de Sindia (SFDIS). The main goal of SFDIS is to sensitize the local community on development aspects, make proposals to local leaders and encourage unity among rural communities.  Demba is a fluent speaker and writer of Saafi-Saafi. He also speaks French and English. Ethnically, he is a Saafi, a subgroup of the Seereer.

Demba is one of the Seereer Resource Centre's team members. He joined the Seereer Resource Centre (SRC) on 13th July 2013 and since then has been an active member of the SRC and its initiatives in preserving and promoting Seereer culture and traditions. At the SRC, he serves as Head of Seereer Rural Development (Senegal), SRC Researcher and Saafi-Saafi Translator. Due to his huge knowledge and interest in Seereer religion, culture and traditional medicine, he was brought into Seereer Radio by Tamsier Joof as a presenter.
